First I would just like to say a huge, super, over the moon THANK YOU to all of you wonderful clients!

Thank you for the kinds words in emails, texts and on social media.

Thank you for purchasing color kits, products and gift cards to support us. 

And most of all thank you for being patient with us as we have had to learn to navigate in circumstances we never thought we would ever be in. 

So as of today (5/18/2020) we still do not have a firm re-opening date. As part of the Governors plan to open in Phases, we are a part of Phase 2 which could start as early as May 23 rd. 

HOWEVER! Before you get too excited. We need to know from the NC Board of Cosmetic Arts what guidelines and regulations will be put in place upon opening. We need time to prepare, buy things we may not already have and train staff so that we can all be on the same page for protecting all of our guests. 

As far as appointments, all the appointments that were rescheduled to May are just hanging out on the books so that I know the order in which to reschedule them in. Once we have that FIRM re-opening date then the appointment rescheduling will commence. There will be more emails, so be on the lookout.

I have been watching very closely what other states regulations for salons have been for re-opening  and have a pretty good idea of what we are in for. Most include:

  • Wearing masks for both staff and clients

  • No waiting areas, waiting in your car until we are ready for you

  • Extensive sanitation practices

We already know we are going to need more time for each client but knowing the actual guidelines will help us to properly reschedule everyone, especially if there are capacity restrictions which could effect every ones schedules. 

To our color clients, you are most likely are rocking some extended roots!

We are going to need more time and more color at the first appointment to get you back to "normal." Or we might be adjusting some at home hair color, in either case we need to account for both extended time and extra cost of product. 

So for all Color/Highlight appointments we are offering one, simple option that will include everything you need to get your hair back its original fabulous state. 

Introducing our "WELCOME BACK- Cut and Color Reset" Service

Description: Time to hit the "reset button!" To best serve our clients, this is the only full service cut and color option available from re-opening through July. Once most of our guests have been in to get their cut and color "reset" we will re-evaluate our color menu. This is the best option that we can offer to get your hair back to where it needs to be using extra product (color/lightener/toner, etc), extra time for a "more than usual" application and extended time for increased sanitation/disinfection procedures.

Time allotted for this service will be 2.5 hours.

L1 $150 (Abi)
L2 $175 (Corey)
L3 $200 (Sarah and Emily)

Like all of our services, this one still includes a set amount of color based on the average hair length and density. Although it is a generous amount to taking into account the extra grow out, your stylist will let you know if there will be any additional color costs. 

Timing and pricing will be adjusted IF we are not allowed by state regulations to blow-dry hair. 

We will not be doing major color corrections or transformations at this time. 

Just to reiterate, once we have gotten through mid-end of July we will bring other color options back and will at that time have a better understanding of the timing necessary for color services moving forward. 

As far as our other services, haircuts, manicures, pedicures, massage, etc, you will notice a $2 to $5 increase depending on the service. I am in the process of updating our website for true pricing transparency so please be sure to check it out. 

We know that this is a difficult time and not the best time to be adjusting our prices, however we cannot ignore that business has changed and the cost of doing business has increased. Please know that we are not trying to "profit" from this situation or "price gouge" anyone, we are simply doing what we have to to keep our business open and viable.

Curbside Pick Up

Curbside pick up for orders will be offered during the following days and times-

Mondays from 12 pm to 1 pm
Wednesdays from 6 pm to 7 pm
and Fridays from 12 pm to 1 pm
These are scheduled through May 22nd. 
If you are needing products or a root touch up kit, please email me ahead of time so that I can have everything ready for you. 



Some FAQ's 

Will Gift Certificates that expired during the time of closure still be honored?

YES, any Gift Certificate with an expiration in MARCH, APRIL, MAY, JUNE, or JULY 2020 will be honored through the end of the year. 

Can I use a root touch up kit if I get highlights?

Most likely no. If highlights is the only service that you get, no additional color on your roots, then no a root touch up kit is not something that will be beneficial for you. It could actually cause a color correction upon return for your appointment. 

However, there are some clients who get a root touch up with some highlights, the highlights might be at every other visit. A root touch up kit could be a great option for you. 

If you are still unsure please ask, I will look back in your appointment history as well as may request a photo of your hair. 



Update 4/23/2020

Hello to our very missed guests!

Following today’s announcement by Governor Cooper to extend the stay at home order through May 8th, as well as introducing the phases of re-opening our state, I have been interpreting what it all means for the timeline of re-opening our salon and spa.

In a question asked to the Governor regarding salons and fitness facilities, he said very clearly that any business that is closed right now by Executive Order (us) will not be re-opening during Phase 1 and that those businesses would be allowed to re- open during Phase 2, with restrictions. Based on this timeline that puts us re-opening no earlier than May 23rd.

As far as restrictions, that is still unknown at this time however I have been closely monitoring the salon and spa regulations in other states, so I have a good idea of what we will be expected to comply with.

Along with precautions mentioned in my previous update email and posted here on our website, there are some other actions we will be taking that I believe will be necessary to open.

-No double-booking appointments or “squeezing in” clients.

-Limiting the number of staff members and adhering to our schedules as to reduce the number of people in the building at any given time.

We also have some other ideas and procedures in the works, but I wanted to share those two actions with you because they will influence rescheduling appointments.

So, what are we doing about the over 200 appointments, that’s right over 200, on our books for May?

Well here’s the thing, I do not want to have to repeat this whole rescheduling situation, yet again IF this gets extended once more, plus we have no definitive return date. So, I have essentially put a “freeze” on our books through June. Nothing in, nothing out, and online booking is temporarily shut off. Once I know for SURE when salons will be allowed to open, I will open the booking back up and will start to reschedule appointments.

I know this closure extension means you will be waiting even longer for your appointments. I need to address a question that we have been getting about coming to your homes or arranging services outside of the salon, we cannot do this. We would be at jeopardy for losing our license and this is not something that we can risk.

We are still available for product sales, root sprays and root touch up kits, and am introducing curbside pick-up. As much as I loved driving around and seeing your beautiful homes when I did porch drop-offs, my son gets car sick.

I wish I had better news to give you but we are doing the best we can. Please let us now if there is anything else that we can do to help you. You can expect some more videos, hopefully some great tips and tricks to help you out.

Hello Body Bliss Guests!

As of March 22nd, Body Bliss Salon and Spa was mandated to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

As of today, April 16th, 2020 we are scheduled to open May 1st, 2020. 

To make the process of re-opening as seamless as possible and to put you at ease we have some information we would like to share.

First, if you had an appointment in March or April, your appointment has been reschedule in May to a day and time similar to your original appointment. Examples-If you were scheduled for an evening we tried to keep your appointment in the evening, if you were scheduled on a Saturday we tried to keep it on a Saturday., and so on. 

Please check your email for your rescheduled appointment. If you did not receive an email or your new appointment does not work for you, please email and we will respond within 24-48 hours. 

As we return to the salon there will be a high demand on our time, we ask that if you cannot make your appointment that you please be aware of our cancellation policy:

"The staff at Body Bliss Salon and Spa would greatly appreciate any cancellations be made at least 24 hours before your appointment time. We understand that things happen at the last minute that may prevent you from making it to your appointment. Please feel free to call us to re-schedule or cancel any appointment. Appointments canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time incur a cancellation fee of 50% of service cost. No-shows incur a fee of 100% of the appointment cost."

There are also some TEMPORARY changes that we are making to keep you and our staff safe. 

-Upon entry, we ask that you wash your hands or use hand sanitizer to reduce the spread of germs. There will be some readily available for you when you enter. 

-We are removing all magazines, coffee and snacks from the waiting area to reduce touch points. Snacks, bottle water, coke and diet coke are still available at request.

-Your personal items will be kept in the stylists cabinet or in designated baskets for nail services during your appointment. Please bring in with you only items that you NEED during your appointment. 

-We are asking that you do not bring extra guests, including children, with you to your appointment as we want to limit the number of people in the salon. 

Here is a reminder of our Children Policy-

"The staff at Body Bliss Salon and Spa love children….some of us even have a few! However, we ask that you make child care arrangements and not bring your children with you to your appointment unless they are receiving services. Many guests look forward to their salon and spa experience as personal “pampering” time. Even the best behaved children are subject to elements of danger in the salon environment (sharp scissors, hot irons, glass shelves, etc.) Please respect this policy, and accept our appreciation for your understanding. In return, when your child is receiving a service, we promise to see that no pesky grownups disrupt their Body Bliss experience!"

In addition to all these precautions, we are completing the Barbicide Certification Course that will certify us in infection control and is a great refresher in sanitation procedures. Cleanliness and sanitation have always been our top priority at Body Bliss Salon and Spa, and we want to give you the confidence that we are doing all we can to provide a safe environment.
